Android App Development Services

Android's hard problem is not the language, it is the range: hundreds of screen sizes, a decade of OS versions, and phone brands with their own ideas about background processes.

We build in Kotlin with Jetpack Compose, following Material Design and Android's architecture guidance so the app behaves the way the platform expects. Testing runs on real devices and emulators across the OS versions and screen sizes your US audience actually uses, including the low-memory and aggressive-battery-optimization cases that make apps look broken on some brands' phones despite working perfectly on a Pixel.

Google Play's operational side has become the part that catches teams out. Target API level requirements are enforced on a schedule and apps that miss them stop being distributable, data safety declarations must match what the app really collects, and permission policies for location, storage and background work are audited. We handle publishing end to end — release tracks, staged rollouts, Play Console configuration — and keep the app compliant as those policies change rather than waiting for a takedown notice.

process

How Android App Development Services work

Step 1: Define the MVP

The smallest build that proves the idea, with everything else written down as phase two rather than argued about later.

Step 2: Prototype the flows

Clickable screens for the core journeys, tested with real users before a line of production code.

Step 3: Build in sprints

Two-week cycles with a TestFlight or internal-track build at the end of each one. You use it as it grows.

Step 4: Ship & maintain

Store submission handled end to end, then crash monitoring, OS-update compatibility and a support window.

faq

Android App Development Services FAQ

Which Android versions should we support?

Usually the current version and four or five back, which covers the large majority of active US devices. The exact cut-off comes from your analytics if you have them. Supporting very old versions is possible but constrains the libraries available and adds testing cost.

Why does my app behave differently on some phones?

Device-level battery optimization, almost always. Several vendors kill background processes far more aggressively than stock Android, which breaks notifications and sync in ways that never reproduce on a Pixel. It is a known problem with known workarounds, and it is why we test on real devices.

How does Google Play review compare to Apple's?

Usually faster and less subjective, but the ongoing policy compliance is stricter — target API deadlines, data safety declarations and permission rules are enforced on schedule and can pull a live app from distribution. The work shifts from launch to maintenance.

Can you publish under our existing Play account?

Yes, and that is the right arrangement — the account should be your company's. We work as a member of it with the access level we need. If you do not have one yet, we will guide you through setup and verification.
